St Athan is situated in a quiet and beautiful countryside area, with its own beach in the Vale of Glamorgan about 3 miles from Cardiff International Airport.

Llantwit Major (Llanilltud Fawr) (under 2 miles) is the closest town, it has a good range of shops, banks, doctors, dentists, schools, Leisure Centre and also a bus and train station and its own beach etc. It would be approximately a few minutes drive but a good 20 minute walk.

Barry is approximately 11 miles away and is easily accessible by road or bus and has a larger range of shops, stores, Cinema and nightlife and is always developing its amenities to make it a bigger and better town to visit and there is also Barry Island to visit if you fancy a fun packed seaside day out.

Bridgend is approximately 11 miles away and is easily accessible by road, bus or train and has a better range again compared to Barry, this is where you will find the closest shopping centre and designer outlet.

Cardiff is approximately 18 miles away and is easily accessible by road, bus or train, baring in mind this is a city sometimes it works out far quicker and cheaper to travel on the bus or train. There is everything in Cardiff, you can spend a day sight seeing or a day of shopping, there is something here for everyone of every age.

St Athan station is a large site split in to three. RAF (East side), Army (West side) and DSG in the middle. All the facilities on the station are available to service personnel and their dependants. Facilities include a Swimming pool, Gym, Golf Club, Cinema, Learning Centres, Medical Centre, Hairdressers, Post Office and more.
