What is it? This 'internet' based version of the People Services website is simply a copy of that available via the Defence Intranet. Due to the monthly change control cycle, information and services will be consistent irrespective of the route used to access it (i.e. Intranet, Internet, DVD, Phone, Fax or E-Mail).
Who is it for?All civilian employees and their managers who do not have access to the Defence Intranet / People Services.
How does it work?All you need is an internet connection. The information accessed is not restricted and is therefore not password protected.
After following the link to the opening page, you should click the 'People Services Start Page' hyperlink to launch the People Services website. All subsequent navigation will be exactly as it is on the Defence Intranet version, albeit with the functionality exceptions highlighted below.
What is the difference between using the Defence Intranet (RLI based version) and the Internet based copied version of the People Services website?There will be a very short period each month (around 5 days) when although the versions are aligned, the procedure for copying the 'master' Intranet based version to the Internet server will mean this does not happen straight away.
Please be aware of this if taking key decisions based on Internet based People Services content where it may be prudent to check important facts with the PSC during the first few days of each calendar month.
Due to the limitations imposed by the creation of a static copy of People Services for the Internet, the following functionality familiar within the Intranet version will either be unavailable or reduced:
Links to other areas of the Defence Intranet (i.e Teams, Admin etc) will not work. Links to intranet sites external to the Defence Intranet (e.g. bespoke Intranet websites from other business areas such as DA-CMT or AMS) will not work. Links to applications (e.g. HRMS, Online Forms, Enterprise Directory) will not work.
Some related documents containing personal information have been removed.
