The Head of Commercial Submarines and outer office are responsible for the submarine operating centre commercial strategy which includes providing the leadership and assurance for the placement of commercial deals in support of the following project teams:
- In Service Submarines: Upkeep and Maintenance of all in service submarines
- Submarine Production: Bringing into service the ASTUTE class submarines
- Future Submarines: Delivering the future deterrent
- Nuclear Propulsion: Provision and maintenance of cores in support of the current and future deterrent programmes
- Strategic Weapons: Provision and maintenance of strategic weapons systems
In addition, the Head of Commercial Submarines provides commercial leadership and assurance for all submarine-related [or associated] requirements placed at Clyde and Devonport Naval Bases and at Rosyth Docktard.
