Protected Mobility Team
The Protected Mobility Team is responsible for procuring, supporting and disposing of wheeled vehicles and new tracked vehicles bought as Urgent Operational Requirements.
The Protected Mobility Team is responsible for delivering vehicle-based Urgent Operational Requirements. It provides a genuine accelerated approach to coherent delivery and sustainment of vehicles deployed on operations.
Current Activities
FOXHOUND – Lightweight protected patrol vehicle providing a step-change in the light vehicle capability and which will replace the Land Rover Snatch on operations.
HUSKY - Protected highly mobile tactical support vehicle.
MASTIFF/RIDGBACK/WOLFHOUND - Based on the Cougar platform this family of vehicles provides high levels of protection, mobility and capacity to operations.
JACKAL – Long range surveillance and reconnaissance role vehicle which supplements the Land Rover WMIK fleet.
COYOTE - Support vehicle for the Jackal fleet, with high commonality to reduce the logistic burden on long patrols.
WARTHOG - High mobility protected patrol vehicle.
RODET – Roll-over drills and egress trainer.
RWMIK+ – The latest development of the weapons platform providing increased protection, mobility and firepower.
VECTOR – Lightweight protected patrol vehicle for a range of duties.
SNATCH/VIXEN+ – Update to this enduring capability to address the environmental challenges in Afghanistan.
