Combat Wheels Group

The Combat Wheels Group comprises two teams: Manoeuvre Support and Protected Mobility Teams.

The Combat Wheels capability area is defined as protected mobility land platforms procured under urgent operational requirement procedures, and mobility, counter mobility, C-IED and survivability equipment.

Current Activities

The Protected Mobility Team is responsible for most Land Systems protected mobility platforms procured under urgent operational requirement procedures and their in-service support.

  • Mastiff
  • Husky
  • Wolfhound
  • Escapade
  • Snatch/Vixen
  • Warthog
  • Foxhound.


The Manoeuvre Support Team is responsible for manoeuvre support and counter mobility equipment used by Royal Engineers in the Army.
This includes
  • Terrier
  • DCMC (Dismounted Counter Mine Capability)
  • Bridging and the Talisman, Short Gap Crossing,
  • C-IED and
  • urgent operational requirements.
