Defence Fuels Group

The Defence Fuels Group (DFG) is responsible for the efficient and effective provision of fuels , lubricants and industrial gases to our Armed Forces worldwide. It is a joint-service group with responsibilities for management of the physical supply chain, including policy, procedures and regulations.

The DFG procures aviation, marine and ground fuels as well as lubricants and industrial gases in support of Front Line Commands, ensuring that they are delivered or made available to the correct quality whatever and whenever they are needed.

It is the technical focus on all fuel matters, and its scientists set and monitor the specifications of fuel, lubricants and gases for use by the MOD. It is also the MOD licensing authority for fuel installations.

DFG is also responsible for the operation of six UK Naval Oil Depots, along with the Oil Fuel Depot, pipeline and wharf in Singapore. DFG also manages the supply of bulk fuels to Permanent Joint Overseas Bases.
