Defence Clothing (DC) Team
The Defence Clothing Team develops, procures and conducts supply management of clothing and personal equipment (less flying clothing) for the Armed Forces and uniformed MoD.
Defence Clothing is responsible for maintaining the Armed Forces clothing inventory, through production planning based on customers requirements, procurement and stock management.
The team is responsible for workwear, personal protection equipment, parade and ceremonial wear.
This includes the “Black Bag”, a comprehensive set of individual equipment provided to Armed Forces deployed on operations, introduction of new Multi-terrain pattern clothing and the Personal Clothing System combat uniform, a modernisation of combat clothing to keep pace with current developments in operations.
The team is also responsible for the interim New Clothing Solution – an online facility for ordering and delivering non–operational clothing direct to customers address.

2001 - DC IPT formed at Caversfield from Defence Clothing and Textile Agency
2004 - DC IPT awards contract for clothing to Cooneen Watts and Stone, up to £2M items of clothing
2004 - DC IPT Awards contract to Iturri boots for footwear – up to £44M over 5 years
2005/6 - Introduction of Kestrel and Osprey Body Armour
2006 – Formation of Logistic Commodities incorporating Defence Food Services, Defence Clothing and Medical and General Supplies Teams
2009 - DC restructured and collocated with Logistic Commodities and Defence Food Services at Ensleigh, Bath as part of the South West Acquisition Hub
