Systems managed include Bowman, the Common Battlefield Applications Toolset, Infrastructure and Platform Battlefield Information Systems Application, collectively known as CIP, the Personal Role Radio, ARRC C2IS, and MAKEFAST.

Incremental acquisition aims to achieve progressive future update, upkeep and upgrade of the systems and capability.

In supporting the communication equipment on over 1,500 platforms (including some 8,000 Bowman radios deployed in current operations) BATCIS works closely to integrate Tactical CIS with other programmes such as Future Integrated Soldier Technology, Counter IED and Protected Patrol Vehicle.
