Key services the team provides:
Command and control support for planning and the command and control of operations
The primary systems sustained are the Joint Operational Command System, Royal Navy Command Support System, Submarine Broadcast Processing System, Joint Command System (Logistics) and CBM Air applications. These are all being used on current operations worldwide. The team is also sustaining a US system called CENTRIXS. It is also responsible for providing fully accredited support to the testing, integration and assessment of joint command and control (C2) communication and information systems at the Land Systems Reference Centre and responsible for environmental applications that enable the provision of meteorological and oceanographic data to the Royal Navy.
Joint Command and Control Support Programme
This programme of four projects will evolve the current environmental C2 support systems into a single integrated set of joint C2 applications hosted on the common Defence Information Infrastructure. The outcome will be improved command support information management and improved shared situational awareness. It will also improve the ability to share information between coalition partners and Joint Reference Information Management Capability which will provide reference information in standardised formats in order to provide the best information to support critical operational decision making.
Defence eCommerce Service
Defence eCommerce Service (DECS) is an enabling platform that provides for the secure hosting of eCommerce and other business services between the MOD and its trading partners. It is the principal portal and interface for the defence community to conduct business electronically with the MOD. The service is provided by Capgemini under a Public Private Partnership arrangement and also serves other government departments.
Defence Medical Information Capability
The Defence Medical Information Capability will replace the legacy medical applications currently in use. The new programme will provide the Defence Medical Services (including Dental Services) with information systems and services to provide effective healthcare to entitled personnel in both operational and non-deployed environments. It will aid the MOD in discharging its duty of care to patients, and provide clinical data when and where required.
Air Movements Operations
Air Movements Operations will be the primary tool for support to and management of the air movements processes, including reservations and airhead processing of passengers and freight on to RAF Air Transport Force and MOD chartered aircraft.
Defence e-Learning Delivery and Management Capability
The Defence e-Learning Delivery and Management Capability project delivers a capability to provide a platform for hosting and delivering learning content. It is the enabling contract with BT which supports the Programme for Defence Learning Portal and enables users to access a range of training material at their desktops, from any internet-enabled PC or from defence e-learning centres.
Defence and Individual Training Management
Defence and Individual Training Management is an IS-enabled change programme aimed at harmonising and managing the existing tri-service Regular and Reserve individual training business processes.
