Current activities:
- Through life support of air defence radars
The team supports a range of air defence surveillance radars comprising mobile and fixed assets including Type 92, Type 101 and Type 102 Radars, the Falkland Islands Remoting System. The AD Team also supports the Bridgemaster radar system which is sited at various air weapons ranges throughout the UK.
- Through life support of air traffic control services
ADATS supports a range of primary and secondary surveillance and precision approach radars, ground to air/ground communications equipment and navigational capability including Very High Frequency/Ultra High Frequency non radar pilot interpreted landing approach aids.
- Through life support of ground-based electronic warfare and data handling equipment
The team supports a mix of threat systems which provide real-life threat evasion training to all NATO forces. ADATS also supports a variety of legacy air defence data links to enable two-way data and voice exchange between ground, sea and air based UK and NATO air defence assets.
