Merlin Team

The Merlin team delivered and now supports in-service Merlin helicopters.

The Merlin Project Team provides in-service support and, as necessary, is responsible for the continuing upgrade of the Merlin Mk1 and MK3/3a that are in service with the Royal Navy and Royal Air Force.

To sustain the capability of the Merlin Mk1 the team is managing a technical upgrade - Merlin Mk1 Capability Sustainment Programme (MCSP). This contract was awarded to Lockeed Martin in December 2005 with a forecast in-service date of 2014.

The Merlin team is also at the leading edge of future support initiatives, working to provide innovative solutions for Mk1 and Mk3/Mk3a aircraft. The Integrated Merlin Operational Support project received Ministerial approval to proceed in February 2006 and is now on contract and operational.
