The Sustainable Procurement Charter is a voluntary charter which was developed in conjunction with industry and is based on a set of sustainable procurement principles. The aim is to work with industry to embed the principles of sustainable procurement into acquisition and through life management practices within the MOD and its supply chain. This will involve:
- Educating all layers of the supply chain
- Improving decision making
- Developing sustainable procurement performance measures
- Improving procurement processes and tools
