The Framework Agreement for Technical Support (FATS) Team, Technical Service Team within the Ministry of Defence (MoD) is responsible for the current Framework Agreement for Technical Support (FATS/3). FATS was placed on 1st April 2009 and will run until 31 March 2012. FATS provides a faster and more efficient contractual route to procure Technical Support as it offers pre-agreed contract terms and conditions, rates and discounts, and it uses standard Tasking Forms.
FATS Participating Suppliers have mapped their capabilities onto the FATS Technology Taxonomy, and this information is available to the Acquisition Community via a Microsoft Excel based search tool called the Market Knowledge Matrix.
FATS can be used by all Ministry of Defence (MoD) Integrated Project Teams (IPTs), Business Units and
Departments, and also Other Government Departments and Public Bodies.
FATS/3 has over 380 Participating Suppliers, many of which are Small to Medium Enterprises (SMEs). The list of FATS/3 Participating Suppliers can be found under ‘Related Pages’
The Public Contracts Regulations 2006 prohibit new suppliers from joining a Framework Agreement once it has been placed, so new suppliers are unable to join FATS/3. However, there may be opportunities to sub-contract to existing FATS suppliers. If you are a contractor who would like to investigate possible sub-contracting opportunities then a copy of the FATS/3 Supplier Points of Contact List can be obtained from the FATS Team by calling:
