During his trip to Helmand, the Duke met medics and doctors working at the Role 3 Hospital at Camp Bastion, where injured service men and women are treated.
While at Camp Bastion, his Royal Highness, who is Deputy Colonel in Chief of the Royal Scots Dragoon Guards, spent time with soldiers from the Regiment who are currently serving on Operation HERRICK 14.
He was briefed by members of the WARTHOG Group as to the kinds of operations that they have been involved in since arriving in Helmand back in April.
The Duke travelled to Lashkar Gah to meet the Commander of Task Force Helmand (TFH), Brigadier Ed Davis and spend time in the Headquarters of TFH.
His Royal Highness also visited the district of Nahr-e Saraj during which he met with soldiers from 1st Battalion The Rifles.
The Duke is the Royal Colonel of 1 RIFLES and spent time at their headquarters, Patrol Base 2 and visited one of the smaller Check Points, called Jeker, where soldiers have spent the last six months.
