It is with deep regret that the Ministry of Defence has to confirm the death of Major James Stenner, Welsh Guards, in a road traffic accident in Baghdad early on 1 January 2004.

James Stenner came from Monmouthshire. Married, he was aged 30. The media are strongly asked to respect the family's privacy at this very difficult time; our thoughts and prayers are with them.
