4 Mechanized Brigade are undertaking the training exercise ahead of deploying to Afghanistan in April to replace 11 Light Brigade as the lead formation of British troops in Helmand province.
DTE's strategic partner Landmarc carried out works to make the site ready for the training exercise during the two weeks prior to the MRX.
Preparations included the construction of fencing, the delivery of bulk storage containers for waste water, the installation of arms caches and the construction of command and control Portacabins at Forward Operating Bases (FOBs).
400 vehicles and a variety of helicopters including Chinooks were brought in to assist with the MRX, as well as a small number of Fast Jets and C130 Hercules aircraft.

Lieutenant Colonel Mike Beard, Commander DTE Salisbury Plain, said:
"DTE and Landmarc Support Services continue to develop a realistic laydown of operational bases and civilian settlements across the Plain in order to support mission specific training.
"4 Mechanized Brigade has taken full advantage of the real estate and facilities provided to support their mission rehearsal exercise, although the wet weather has not proved so realistic. We wish them all the best for their forthcoming deployment."
