MOD seeks views online for future Defence Review

The Ministry of Defence has launched a short online opinion survey to gather views on a number of issues being considered in the first step in a process leading to a Strategic Defence Review.

The Strategic Defence Review, which will be set in the context of the recently updated National Security Strategy, will be designed to ensure that the UK's Armed Forces are fully prepared for future threats and challenges to Britain's security.
The first step towards the Strategic Defence Review (SDR) is a Green Paper that will lead to the SDR early in the next Parliament. The Green Paper will identify the key questions facing Defence and, through the review, the MOD will aim to answer them.
We are inviting responses online as well as through traditional polling, to give the largest number of people possible an opportunity to contribute.

Some of the questions in the poll are the same as those in an existing public poll being conducted on behalf of the Department by a leading market research company.
The survey will run until 26 November 2009 and the results will be published on the MOD website.
