Location of HIVE - The HIVE is situated centrally in camp, near the mini roundabout and adjacent to the Launderette.

Opening Hours: Mon,Tue,Thu: 0900-1530hrs, Fri: 0900-1300hrs.
Wed: 0900 - 1400hrs (Kinnegar outreach service)

Palace Barracks is situated within walking distance of the small community town of Holywood. Holywood has lots of small shops where you can find unusual gifts but it also has shops, supermarkets and restaurants for every day living items. The vibrant and busy city of Belfast is only a short bus or car ride away and there you will find all the big shopping centres and High Street shops, as well as a wealth of entertainment venues. The Odyssey Centre is the biggest entertainment Centre, built as a Millennium Project it houses cinemas, restaurants, pubs, bowling alley, ice rink and is the venue where many visiting top stars perform.

The Unit boasts many amenities including a gym, swimming pool, stables and various sport and recreational clubs. There is also a learning centre for personnel and dependants, library, hairdresser, coffee shop, free internet service (in the HIVE) and a Youth Club .There is a parent and toddler group and a Crèche and Nursery School, all inside the barracks. There are the usual mess facilities and Holywood also has Families bar.
