Weeton Barracks is set in the countryside of Lancashire, just of junction 3 of the M55, 1mile from Weeton village and only 8 miles from the busy tourist town of Blackpool. Weeton Barracks at this present time is home to the 1st Battalion the Royal Green Jackets and the Kings Division Normandy Band who are stationed here permanently.

The Barracks are divided into two parts. One being the actual Camp with only authorized access, which houses living accommodation for single and unaccompanied soldiers, messes, NAAFI/Junior Ranks Club, gym, ALC and of course all working departments. The other half housing the married quarters, Primary School, Crèche, Pre-School, Spar Shop with Post Office and Cash Machine, Families Complex, Medical and Dental Centre (for serving personnel only), the Community Centre and the HIVE.

Weeton village is located between Blackpool and Kirkham and is one mile from the Barracks, Weeton boasts a traditional triangular village green where Weeton Fair was once held. It is an ancient village, and the site of a bronze age archaeological find. The Eagle and Child Inn, on the village green is where Oliver Cromwell is said to have stayed.

Singleton  village lies off the main A585, just one mile outside Weeton Barracks, between Blackpool and Preston on Lancashire's Fylde Coast and is a conservation area. Alongside a popular restaurant, the Millers Arms also serves Bar Food. Travelling from Weeton Camp back towards the M55, Kirkham is about 4.5 miles away. There is a Morrisons Supermarket at the bottom of the High Street, where a selection of shops can be found alongside Banks, a small Market Square and a number of pubs.

The famous tourist town of Blackpool with a great many attractions like the Pleasure Beach is only about 8 miles from Camp. Here you can find everything, a good day out shopping strolling through the shopping streets or Centre, a fabulous day out for the whole family with lots of attractions to choose from or a brilliant night out with a vast number of pubs, clubs, theatre, 3 piers etc.

The City of Preston is about 15 miles from Weeton Camp. Preston is a typical modern shopping town with its mix of historic markets, Victorian arcades and modern centres. Late night shopping in the town centre is on Wednesday with most shops keeping their doors open until 8pm. A great number of pubs and clubs provide for a good night out in Preston.
