DST Normandy Barracks is located within the village of Leconfield. The market town of Beverley, 2 miles away, has an attractive blend of the past and present ranging from music festivals to ghost walks, georgian terraces to historic pubs, medieval churches and bustling markets. The horizon is dominated by the majestic Minster. A particular attraction of Beverley is the many independent shops set around the pretty cobbled square. There are leisure pursuits to suit all tastes. 
Normandy Barracks has a gymnasium and recreational complex including cardio vascular and weights room, two large sports halls, squash and tennis courts and a sauna. These facilities are open to all. There is a crèche and parent and toddler group, guides, brownies and other community activities held within the Community Centre. Additional facilities include the Hub (snack bar), unisex hairdresser and Londis shop.
