Reports to Parents

An annual written report is provided to parents of all children attending SCE Schools.

SCE

The format of the school report is decided by the headteacher in consultation with the School Governance Committee. The content of an SCE School report complies with UK statutory requirements and for all pupils the report will include:

  • brief particulars of the pupil's progress in any subject or activity which forms part of the school curriculum
  • the results of any end of Key Stage assessments or public examinations entered by the pupil
  • information concerning the pupil's general progress
  • details of the arrangements for discussing the report with teachers at the school
  • a record of attendance, stating the total number of school sessions and any unauthorised absences expressed as a percentage of the total.
SCE

"Brief particulars" of progress are likely to include a short commentary which identifies particular strengths and weaknesses. Comments on a pupil's "general progress" might include behaviour, contribution to school life, and any special achievements, together with a summary of the pupil's academic progress.

For pupils in the final years of Key Stages 1 & 2, the results of National Curriculum assessments will be included, together with comparative information on the achievements of other pupils of the same age in the school and nationally in the UK.
