Admission as a boarder

Children who live beyond daily travelling distance of an SCE Secondary School may attend boarding education at one of SCE's Secondary Boarding Schools. SCE maintains boarding houses at Prince Rupert School, King’s School, and Windsor School.

SCE

Admission to boarding is subject to the parent’s written agreement to accept a range of responsibilities. Boarding is free of charge except for payment of a Home Savings Contribution details of which are available from the HQ SCE School Budget Manager.

Headteachers of SCE Boarding Schools have the right to refuse admission as a boarder to pupils who have a history of major behavioural difficulties such as sexual misconduct, arson, or extreme physical violence. Where there is uncertainty about the extent of behavioural difficulties, the headteacher may interview the pupil and/or seek information from the headteacher of the prospective boarder’s previous school about his/her suitability for boarding.
