Aim:
To examine the changing character of conflict in the 21st century and to consider how the instruments of strategy can be used to prevent, manage or resolve conflict.
Content:
The term lasts for 7 weeks and includes lectures, panels and seminars on:
- Strategic theory and strategic thinking
- Instruments of power and strategy
- Types of conflict and related strategies
- Contemporary case studies
- Methods of strategic analysis
This term includes a study visit to NATO and the EU institutions in Brussels. It concludes with a Strategy Exercise.
