During their year at RCDS, Course Members can take the opportunity to study for an MA in International Security and Strategy with King’s College London. This joint programme offers a unique opportunity to acquire a prestigious degree accredited by King's College London.
The existing RCDS lecture, seminar and study visit programme forms the main basis for accreditation. The dissertation is another common element, although it has to be a longer essay for the MA programme. The programme is made up of 4 modules:
- Module 1. The Future Strategic Context
- Module 2. Conflict and Strategy
- Module 3. Contemporary International Issues
- Module 4. A Dissertation
In addition to the main course, the MA involves:
- 13 extended seminars
- 3 essays
- 1 written exam
The programme has been running successfully since 2001. In recent years about one third of the Course Members have taken on the additional study for an MA.
