The smallest of the training elements at the DAC but at the heart of all activity, it is this department that ensures that best veterinary practise is maintained and animal welfare is never compromised.
The Veterinary Training Squadron undertakes to ensure that all newly procured horses and dogs meet the required veterinary standards as well as effecting the thorough work up and ongoing treatment of veterinary cases. This service is provided by full time staff, all highly trained and very motivated. These personnel are clinical leaders in their field, possessing current knowledge of conditions common to MWAs.
It is responsible for providing:
- 24 hour on site veterinary cover
- Canine & Equine health evaluations
- Comprehensive diagnostic & surgical facilities
- Ongoing CPD for all permanent staff
Clinical linkage with a number of civilian bodies ensures that staff remain professionally current and at the forefront of clinical practise applicable to MWAs.
