How to reach the Defence School Transport
By road:
Normandy Barracks is located at Leconfield, 3 miles North of Beverley on the A164 (Beverley to Driffield Road). Do not enter the barracks by the ‘Training Vehicles’ entrance – located ¼ of a mile before Leconfield Village. At the entrance to the village (Immediately past the 30 mph signs) turn right into Grange Road. The main entrance to the barracks is approximately 300 yards on the right.
By bus:
There are regular Bus Services from Hull and Beverley to Leconfield Village.
By rail:
‘Hull Trains’ run a daily Service (Monday to Friday) direct to Hull from London King’s Cross. Change at Hull for frequent connections to Beverley. The journey takes approximately 2½ hours.
There is a taxi rank at Beverley Railway Station. York is just 1 hour 50 minutes from London with a service approximately every ½ an hour throughout the day. Journey time by taxi/car from York Railway Station is approximately 45 minutes to an hour.
There are also other trains from Beverley to London via Hull and Doncaster, but the service is infrequent.
By air:
Humberside International Airport is 45 minutes away from Leconfield by road, has regular flights to/from Amsterdam and Scottish Airports. Leeds/Bradford Airport is about 1½ to 2 hours by road from Leconfield and has regular flights to/from all the main UK airports.
By sea:
P & O North Sea Ferries operates a daily overnight ferry service between Hull, Europort and Zeebrugge.
