Adventurous Training - Canoe / Kayaking

The first rate facility to teach Kayaking/Canoeing. Sea Kayaking in Cyprus is excellent with 100’s of km of coastline to explore and discover an endless amount of secluded beaches which add to the adventure when camping out on one of our courses. We facilitate 12 expeditions per year, who use the Sea Kayaking equipment (up to x 8 paddlers) to travel the islands coastline.

  • Kayak Foundation Course (KFC)

The Kayak Foundation Course is conducted over 5-days and designed for novices. Students are trained and assessed in kayak skills to British Canoe Union (BCU) 2* level. Students are trained in water safety, rescue techniques and incident management through the syllabus of the Canoe Safety Test. Students undertake a 2-day expedition by kayak which may include an introduction to kayaking on sheltered water.

  • Sea Kayak Progression Course (SKP)

The Sea Kayak Progression Course is a 5-day course which is designed to assist with improving skills. Students receive skills training to BCU 4* Level, on flat and moderate water at sea, in preparation for the Canoe Instructor Level 3 Training Course (C3T). The technical levels will be adjusted to suit the needs of each student. Students can undertake a challenging expedition on moderate water at sea.

  • Joint Service Canoe Instructor Level 1 (CI1)

The Joint Service Canoe Instructor Level 1 is a 5-day course which trains and assesses personnel in the skills required to safely introduce others to canoeing activities at a basic level, using kayaks and open canoes, on very sheltered water sites.

  • Joint Service Canoe Instructor Level 1 (C12)

The Joint Service Canoe Instructor Level 2 is a 5-day course which trains and assesses personnel in the skills required to lead service Adventurous Training (AT) expeditions by kayak and open canoe on sheltered water. Additionally, the course provides grounding in the principles of instructing kayaking, open canoeing and qualifies personnel to deliver Kayak or Open Canoe Foundation Courses as Distributed Training when authorised.
