Adventurous Training Centres

The Adventurous Training Group has three main centres; Adventurous Training Group (Germany), Cyprus Joint Service Adventurous Training Center (CJSATC) and Joint Services Mountain Training Centre (JSMTC).

ATG(G) provides the Command and Control for all AT activities involving British Forces in Germany and delivers specialised AT training from their dedicated facilities throughout Germany.

Cyprus Joint Services Adventurous Training Centre (CJSATC) is located on the East Coast of Cyprus, within the Eastern Sovereign Base Area (ESBA). The Centre provides a full range of Adventurous Training (AT) activities at Levels 2, 3 and 4, including; Parachuting, Sub-Aqua Diving, Off-Shore Sailing, Kayaking and Canoeing, Hill Walking and Rock Climbing.

HQ JSMTC is based at Anglesey, North Wales. It commands four Joint Service Mountain Training Wings (JSMTWs), located as follows: JSMTW: at on Anglesey, North Wales, JSMTW (Scotland): in Argyll, Scotland, JSMTW (Ripon): in North Yorkshire, England, JSMTW (Norway): near Lillehammer, Norway (November to April only).
