If problems persist then please do not hesitate to contact our Helpdesk.

15th February 2012 - Details of incorrect Check showing on CMS

CMS users may notice that in certain cases Cerberus will show a written testimony check has been selected and completed when no such check was requested. This is a known problem and DBS NSV is looking to fix this as soon as is practicable. DBS NSV can confirm that no charges are levied in such cases.

For information only. There is no need for OGD Customers to take any action.

For further information please contact the DBS NSV Help Desk.

4th August 2011 - Clearance Updates to JPA

Defence Business Services National Security Vetting (DBS NSV) can announce that the accumulation of files being uploaded into Cerberus from the Military Personnel HR system (JPA) has been processed and there is now a regular twice weekly transfer of files between JPA and Cerberus.

The end result is that Military Personnel should now be able to view up to date clearance information on JPA. This includes individuals who currently hold a valid security clearance i.e. a CTC/SC or DV, the date this was issued and when it is due to expire. The same information will be provided for those individuals currently undergoing the clearance process once this is completed. Therefore all service personnel should use JPA to view their clearance information and should ONLY contact the DBS Helpdesk if this information is not showing.

12th August 2011 - OGD Cerberus Case Management System Access - UPDATE

The testing of the fixes to the Cerberus Case Management System access for Decision Makers has been successfully completed.

In order to regain access to the CMS, the first thing you will have to do is sign and return the new System Operating Procedures (SyOps) Certificate of Agreement. We will not be able to distribute the new logon details until this signed certificate has been received.

Once we have received your signed Sy-Ops, you will be issued with your new password, which will restore your access to the CMS. You are advised to change your password at your first log-on.

Once you have successfully logged onto Cerberus, we would encourage you re-familiarise yourself with the system, as you will not have been on there in a couple of months. A Cerberus Quick Guide has been issued to customers to help in this process.

You will begin to see changes in the capabilities and functionality of the system in the last quarter of 2011. This will be a gradual process as some of the proposed changes will need to be processed as formal requests with our contractor. Additional information will be released on this when appropriate.

4th August 2011 - Defence Business Services National Security Vetting (DBS NSV) Performance

DBS NSV recognises the impact that there has been on performance since go-live of Cerberus. This has been brought about by both technical and non-technical early teething issues and more specifically a change to requirements twice since go-live from one of our 3rd party suppliers These two change requests have now been developed and implemented and work is now flowing to this 3rd party supplier for their check. As these checks are returned we are doing our utmost to process them as quickly as possible.
