Joint Security Co-ordination Centre (JSyCC)

The JSyCC was created to provide a focal point for 'information security alert', 'warning and response' activities, as well as acting as a source of vulnerability and threat information.

It enables Defence Information Assurance assessment through the conduct and coordination of MOD Information Security incident management and related risk analysis activity.

Our key responsibilities are:

  • The co-ordination of the immediate response, warning and reporting, including the investigative oversight and follow-up actions for reported IA/InfoSy incidents involving the loss, compromise or leakage of protectively marked/official information
  • The management of MoD Information Security Incident Reporting Scheme (MISIRS) and supporting database, together with the provision of statistics and drafting of responses to Parliamentary Questions, Freedom of Information requests etc
  • The fusion, assessment and promulgation of Information Security related vulnerability and intelligence information
  • The longer-term, in depth analysis of strategic issues to inform the information security risk management decision process by the provision of Threat, Vulnerability and Impact (TVI) data to provide consolidated options and recommendations
  • The provision of the Senior National Representation and the provision of the Departments coordination of IA outreach programmes with key allies and several coalitions. If you wish to know more about our services, please contact us using the links to the right
