CSRR is represented by members of the Royal Navy, the Army and the Royal Air Force

The Combined Services Rugby Referees (CSRR) is the Armed Services Federation of Rugby Referees Societies and is made up of the Royal Navy, the Army and the Royal Air Force Referees Societies.

CSRR will assist each member society in providing a suitably qualified referee to every match played within the Armed Services.

In conjunction with the member societies CSRR will provide the pathway and opportunity for all match officials to develop to their full potential. They will select and actively promote those match officials with potential to reach the RFU National Panel or equivalent.

CSRR will coordinate all refereeing courses that are individually run by the constituent societies to maximize benefit to the game of rugby as a whole.

Chairman's Message from Wg Cdr Mike Priestley

I was aboslutely delighted to be offered the opportunity to be the Chairman of the Combined Service Rugby Referees.  Our Federation status is importand and give us a strong position of inlfuence within the RFU Referee Department and we must do all we can to sustain that hight profile we hold.  We have strong single Service Societies in the RNRURS, ARURS, RAFRURS and each has a strong part to play in CSRR.

CSRR is an active organisation that hask key missions:
- Provide an appropriate referee (or team of three, four, or five for the top-level games) to every match played under the authority of the three Service Unions.
- Provide the pathway and the opportunity for all match officials to develop to their full potential, through practical officiating opportunities and importantly through training and development.  Our Training Officers, Match Observers, Referee Assessors and Coaches all have a pivotal part to play in this.  Our goal would be to see a large number of Service Referees achieve RFU National Panel Status and beyond.
- Develop the standar of officiating across Service Rugby, to a uniformally high level that is consistently applied in every match.

We continually welcome new blood and can offer a range of opportunities in your single Service Societies and with the CSRR.  For current and potential officials, refereeing is a great way to give something back to the game you love, while aslo helping to widen participation in the sport.  Whether your aspirations are to your Unit, your local Under 9s on a Sunday morning or progress to officiating at Twickenham, CSRR will support you every step of the way.  Please use the contacts link available on this page to further your interest in Rugby Union Refereeing.
