The Royal British Legion provides financial, social and emotional support to millions who have served and are currently serving in the Armed Forces, and their dependants. Currently, nearly 10.5 million people are eligible for our support and we receive thousands of calls for help every year.
Poppyscotland supports veterans and their dependants in Scotland through the help of dedicated volunteers and donors.
All money raised is spent in the following ways:
- Providing direct financial assistance to individuals
- Funding a pensions advice service for veterans
- Providing grants and research to organisations that deliver specialist support to veterans in Scotland
- Supporting the employment of veterans with disabilities in the Edinburgh-based Lady Haig’s Poppy Factory
The Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Families Association (SSAFA) Forces Help is the national charity helping and supporting those who serve in our Armed Forces, those who used to serve and the families of both.
Each year we provide a reliable, caring and trusted service to more that 50,000 people.
This year SSAFA have just set up a bespoke Operational Welfare Fund dedicated to support personnel working on the front line.
Seafarers UK are a national charity that fundraises andgives grants to over seventy charities that help people who have worked at sea. This includes helping people from the Navy,Merchant Navy and fishing fleets and their families.
The Officers' Association exists to promote the welfare of those who have held a commission in HM Armed Forces and their dependants. Working closely with other Service and civilian charities, we provide accurate and timely advice and support to service leavers, ex-officers and their dependants on employment and statutory benefits, provide financial support to entitled beneficiaries and assist those eligible to find appropriate accommodation.
The RAF Association (RAFA) is a membership organisation of serving and former members of the Royal Air Force, their families and dependants and those supporting the aims of the Association. It is the largest single-service membership organisation in the United Kingdom. The Association provides help, care and support for the whole RAF family.
