Safety, Sustainable Development and Continuity Division (SSDCD)

Formerly the Directorate of Safety and Claims

Division Announcement

Following a reorganisation; the Directorate of Safety & Claims (DS&C) was replaced by the Safety, Sustainable Development & Continuity Division (SSDCD) as of November 2008.

The main changes to SSDC from the reorganisation is as follows:

  • Claims has now become a standalone division called Common Law Claims and Policy Division.
  • The Nuclear Accident Response Team has moved to Directorate of Business Resilence (DBR) and has been renamed as Nuclear Security and Emergency Planning.
  • The Business Continuity Team has been brought into SSDCD.

The Safety, Sustainable Development and Continuity Division (SSDCD) is concerned with Safety, Sustainable Development, Business Continuity and Assurance related to: radiological protection and radioactive waste, occupational health and occupational safety, accident and incident monitoring and assurance, environmental pollution and sustainable development, and all aspects of business continuity and pandemics.
