The unit provides the following services:
- Development of MOD PFI policy and guidance
- Advice and assistance on PFI to MOD Integrated Project Teams and Contract Management Teams
- Scrutiny of PFI projects to provide assurance to senior staff that our PFI projects are soundly based, properly managed and meet HM Treasury requirements
- A central PFI project information resource
Corsham Development Project PFI Contract. A major new defence centre in North Wiltshire, which will accommodate 2,200 Defence Equipment and Support (DE&S) personnel and their industry partners, was announced by Defence Minister Derek Twigg Monday 4 August 2008. The project known as 'Corsham 09', will see the centre built on the Basil Hill site in Corsham. The PFI contract for the project is worth £690 million over a 25-year PFI deal. Financial close was achieved 01 Aug 08.
FSTA PFI Contract.
27 Mar 08. Future Strategic Tanker Aircraft (FSTA), a contract for a fleet of new Air Transport and Refuelling Airbus A330-200s which will replace the RAF's TriStar and VC-10 aircraft under a £13 billion Private Finance Initiative deal was signed.
