LFA 6 is located in the east of England and covers Northamptonshire, Bedfordshire, Rutland and parts of Leicestershire, Lincolnshire, Cambridgeshire, Buckinghamshire and Hertfordshire. There are two major flying stations, RAF Wittering and RAF Cottesmore, as well as RAF Henlow, RAF Brampton, RAF Wyton and Bassingbourn Barracks.
Much of the low flying activity in LFA 6 involves aircraft transitting to and from the Air Weapons Bases on the east coast, or aircraft from RAF bases in the area flying to and from Wales and the west of England. It is extensively used by training aircraft based in Lincolnshire and Yorkshire.
Usable area: 9,308 km2 (3,594 sq mls). This represents 4.7% of the total usable overland area of the UK Low Flying System
