Defence Industrial Strategy: Defence White Paper (CM 6697)

The UK Defence Industrial Strategy is aimed at ensuring that our Armed Forces are provided with the equipment that they require, on time, and at best value for money.

Introduction

The UK Defence Industrial Strategy was announced on 15 December 05 in Parliament by the Secretary of State for Defence.

The strategy is squarely aimed at ensuring that our Armed Forces are provided with the equipment that they require, on time, and at best value for money.

We need to be assured that we can procure from a sustainable industrial base, that retains within the UK those industrial capabilities (including infrastructure, skills, intellectual property and capacity) that are required, from a national security perspective, to ensure our appropriate sovereignty.
