Commissioned by Defence Estates in January 2003 to advise on the implications of the request from the United States government to upgrade the RAF Fylingdales early warning radar for missile defence purposes.
The report was commissioned to assess all potential environmental, sustainability and land use planning implications of the upgrade, and to consider them in the context of UK planning legislation and guidelines, and other relevant environmental legislation and guidelines.
