MOD Welsh Language Scheme

The Ministry of Defence (MOD) has adopted the principle that in the conduct of its business with the public in Wales, it will treat the English and Welsh languages on a basis of equality.

This Scheme sets out how the Ministry of Defence will give effect to that principle. The Scheme applies equally to the Army, the Navy, the Air Force, the Ministry of Defence Headquarters and its agencies and trading funds.

In drawing up the measures set out in the Scheme, the Department has taken account of what is appropriate in the circumstances and reasonably practicable.
