Following the publication of the Green Paper: ‘Equipment, Support and Technology for UK Defence and Security: A Consultation Paper’, a formal consultation was held. This consultation, led by the Ministry of Defence and the Home Office, covered a range of issues including national security, working with other countries, exports, small and medium-sized enterprises, and cyber security. It ran between 5 January 2011 and 31 March 2011. This was the first time these issues had been considered together from both defence and security perspectives.
A summary of the responses received is available below as a PDF download: ‘Equipment, Support, and Technology for UK Defence and Security: A Consultation Paper. A Summary of the Consultation Responses’ [cmd 8277].
All the responses were carefully considered and the views expressed have contributed to shaping the policy set out in the White Paper: ‘National Security through Technology: Technology, Equipment, and Support for UK Defence and Security’ (Cm8278), which is being published in parallel to this consultation summary, and can be found through Related pages links on the right.
