Air Forces Flight Safety Committee (Europe) - (AFFSC(E))

AFFSC(E) consists of representatives of the flight safety staffs of a wide range of European Air Forces as well as the South African Air Force, Canadian Forces and the European-based elements of the United States Air Force. The Committee provides a means of exchanging information and opinion on all matters of mutual concern in the prevention of aircraft accidents and the furtherance of safety awareness. It also affords an opportunity to gain knowledge and up-to-date information on aviation safety in general and on specific aviation topics and permits the informal personal contact between members which is essential to foster a mutual understanding of flight safety needs of individual air forces. The Standing Chairman is the Director of the UK's Directorate of Aviation Regulation & Safety and the Standing Secretary one of his Staff Officers.
